Day 1 – The Journey Begins: Welcome to the Arctic Wonderland

We start this magical adventure by meeting at the airport, where the Catai team will assist with check-in before boarding our special direct flight to Kuusamo, deep in Finnish Lapland. Enjoy a snack on board while you leave daily life behind and head toward snow-covered serenity. Upon arrival, our guide will greet us and transfer us to Ruka (approx. 30 min). Once there, we’ll collect our thermal clothing, which we’ll use throughout the stay. After settling into your cozy apartment in Rukatonttu or Aurinkurinne, we’ll enjoy a warm dinner at the complex restaurant, surrounded by snowy landscapes and the peaceful silence of the Arctic. Day 2 – Ice, Snow & Adventure: Arctic Fishing and Snowshoe Fun

After a buffet breakfast, we’ll dive straight into local tradition with an authentic ice fishing experience on a frozen lake. With the help of a local fisherman, each person will drill their own hole in the ice and try their luck catching perch, pike, or arctic whitefish. This activity is perfect for guests aged 14 and up and requires no prior experience—just a sense of adventure and fun. While teens and adults enjoy the thrill of ice karting, the little ones (ages 4–11) won’t be left out. Day 3 – Arctic Animals & Snowy Dreams: Huskies and Reindeer Day

After breakfast, prepare for a day full of unforgettable moments. In the morning, we’ll take part in a husky safari, where we’ll drive our own sleds like real mushers. Did you know huskies can pull up to seven times their body weight? Their trainers will share fascinating insights before the ride begins. After a light lunch, we’ll visit a reindeer farm, where Sámi herders will teach us about their culture and connection to these iconic animals. We’ll enjoy a peaceful sleigh ride and learn about reindeer husbandry. The rest of the afternoon is free — enjoy some skiing (with rarely any lift queues), or take the kids to Rosa & Rudolf Family Park in Ruka Valley, accessible via a scenic gondola. Day 4 – Snowmobiles & Santa Claus: A Magical Day to Remember

Today is packed with excitement. After breakfast, we gear up with helmets and gloves and head off on one of the trip’s highlights: a snowmobile safari. Adults will drive (two per snowmobile), while children ride in a sled pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. We’ll cruise across frozen lakes and snowy forests, soaking in Lapland’s raw beauty. After a light lunch, it’s time for the most magical moment of all: a visit to Santa Claus’ house in Vuotunki, by a frozen lake. Children (and adults!) can slide down natural snow toboggans before being welcomed by an elf who leads us into Santa’s warm, cozy home. There, Santa himself will tell stories and sing songs, while Mrs. Claus teaches us her famous cookie recipe, which we’ll bake in her traditional wood-fired oven. At the end of the visit, Santa will personally give each child a gift. A moment that will stay in your hearts forever. Dinner at the complex restaurant. Overnight stay.

Day 5 – Your Day, Your Way: Skiing, Relaxation or an Arctic Escape Buffet breakfast. Today is a free day to enjoy as you wish. You can explore the Ruka ski resort, go shopping, or enjoy a warm drink in a cozy café. You also have the chance to try cross-country skiing, a popular activity in all Nordic countries and easy to learn with the help of local instructors. Optionally, join an unforgettable excursion to Oulanka National Park, famous for its stunning landscapes and the dramatic Myllykoski rapids. We’ll hike with snowshoes through the snowy forest, listen to stories from our guide about the park’s flora and fauna, and enjoy a picnic-style lunch by a campfire.

Day 6 – Farewell, Lapland: Sauna, Snow & Sweet Memories

With almost one sauna for every two people, it’s a beloved ritual of well-being and reflection. Afterward, we head to Kuusamo Airport for our flight back to Spain. Snack served on board. A bordo, disfrutaremos de un snack mientras dejamos atrás la rutina. Al llegar, nos esperan nuestro guía y un breve traslado de 30 minutos hasta Ruka, donde recogeremos el equipo térmico que nos acompañará durante toda la estancia. Tras instalarnos en los acogedores apartamentos de Rukatonttu o Aurinkurinne, disfrutaremos de una cena en el restaurante del complejo, rodeados ya de nieve, silencio y aire puro. Día 2 – Entre hielo y bosques: pesca, nieve y adrenalina opcional

Desayuno buffet para empezar el día con energía. Hoy descubrimos una de las tradiciones más curiosas del norte: la pesca en un lago helado. Un pescador local nos enseñará a hacer un agujero en el hielo y a probar suerte con la caña. En el mismo entorno realizaremos una caminata en raquetas de nieve por el bosque nevado, una actividad tan relajante como divertida para todas las edades. Tras un breve traslado, llegaremos al lugar donde vivirás una aventura única: ¡conducir karts especialmente diseñados para deslizarse sobre hielo y nieve! Esta actividad está pensada para mayores de 14 años y no requiere experiencia previa, ya que su manejo es fácil y totalmente seguro. Mientras los adultos y adolescentes disfrutan pilotando los potentes karts, los más pequeños (entre 4 y 11 años) también vivirán su momento de emoción conduciendo mini-motonieves en un circuito adaptado para ellos. Tras el desayuno, viviremos una jornada para recordar. Por la mañana nos convertiremos en mushers conduciendo un trineo de huskies a través del paisaje nevado. ¿Sabías que estos perros pueden arrastrar hasta siete veces su peso? Después del almuerzo ligero, nos espera una visita a una auténtica granja de renos, donde los criadores lapones nos enseñarán sobre su vida y la de estos animales tan ligados a su cultura. Disfrutaremos de un paseo en trineo y aprenderemos cómo pastorean a los renos bajo la nieve. El resto de la tarde es libre: puedes esquiar en las pistas iluminadas de Ruka o llevar a los más pequeños al Rosa & Rudolf Family Park, accesible con una góndola panorámica desde el centro del pueblo. Día 4 – Moto de nieve + Santa Claus: un día lleno de emoción

Hoy viviremos uno de los momentos más emocionantes del viaje. Tras el desayuno buffet, nos equipamos con cascos y guantes para realizar un espectacular safari en moto de nieve. Los adultos conducirán (2 personas por moto), mientras los niños irán en un trineo especial guiado. Atravesaremos lagos helados y bosques blancos, disfrutando de la belleza salvaje del entorno. Después del almuerzo, nos espera el gran momento: la visita a la casa de Santa Claus en Vuotunki, a orillas de un lago congelado. Los niños se lanzarán por los toboganes naturales de nieve antes de entrar a conocer al verdadero Santa. Un elfo nos recibirá y nos llevará al cálido salón donde Santa nos contará historias y nos enseñará canciones. La Sra. Claus, experta repostera, nos guiará paso a paso en la preparación de sus famosas galletas navideñas, que hornearemos en un horno de leña. Día 5 – Libertad lapona: nieve, esquí o Parque Nacional (opcional)

Desayuno buffet. Hoy tienes el día libre para disfrutarlo a tu ritmo. Puedes aprovechar para esquiar en Ruka, que cuenta con pistas abiertas desde octubre hasta mayo. También puedes hacer algunas compras, relajarte en un café del Village o vivir algo muy local: iniciarte en el esquí de fondo, el deporte nacional de los países nórdicos. Además, te proponemos una excursión opcional al Parque Nacional de Oulanka, una joya natural con paisajes impresionantes, rápidos como los de Myllykoski, y una flora y fauna única. The prices for snowmobile and sled excursions are based on two people sharing the vehicle.

The minimum age to drive snowmobiles is 18 years old. Children below this age will ride in a sled pulled by the guide's snowmobile, based on their weight and height. It is mandatory to possess a valid European car driving license in order to drive the snowmobiles, and it must be carried during the excursion.

All snowmobiles are covered by comprehensive insurance with a deductible of €1000, for which each participant is responsible in case of an accident.

Due to weather conditions (such as snow or ice accumulation) and for safety reasons, excursions may undergo changes in itinerary, duration, or even cancellations without prior notice.

When the group size is very large, it may be divided into several smaller groups, which provides a more convenient operation for passengers. The schedule or order of services on excursions may be altered for this reason, without changing the content of the excursion. Your guides at the destination will inform you in advance of the schedule for your excursions.

The organizer does not guarantee weather conditions, snow or ice accumulation for the realization of the offered excursions or safaris. In the event that force majeure prevents the execution of any excursion and it needs to be canceled, an alternative activity will be arranged or the amount paid will be refunded upon return; either in full if the activity is canceled, or partially if conditions do not allow its complete realization.

Smoking in accommodations where it is not permitted may result in high fines, which can reach up to $4500 per person.

The customer is responsible for the keys to the apartments, and in case of loss, compensation will be requested.
