Rovaniemi is the capital of Lapland, where a thick white blanket usually covers the entire landscape. You will have the opportunity to discover this Arctic region where 180,000 inhabitants coexist with over 200,000 reindeer. The area experiences 200 nights in a year, some of which are illuminated by the Northern Lights. It is a territory with six national parks and small urban centers. Rovaniemi had to be rebuilt after World War II by the prestigious Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, who designed the silhouette of reindeer antlers on the blueprints and built the street grid on top of it. It is a modest but functional city, adapted to the Arctic climate.

Day 1. Barcelona / Rovaniemi

Arrival at the airport. Meet with Catai staff who will assist you with the simple check-in procedures. Departure on a direct special flight to Rovaniemi. Snack on board included. Arrival. Meet with our guide and transfer to Sokos Vaakuna Hotel (approximately 10 minutes). Arrival. Collection of thermal suits that can be used throughout your stay in Lapland. Once settled, you will have free time for dinner. The city offers many alternatives with restaurants of different styles and prices. Day 2. Rovaniemi. Snowmobile Safari and Optional Excursion

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Today, we will embark on one of the most spectacular excursions of the trip, a snowmobile safari. We will be provided with helmets and gloves, and after receiving instructions from the guides, we will start our snowmobile ride. The adults will drive the snowmobiles (2 people per snowmobile), while the children will ride in a sled pulled by the guide's snowmobile. During the journey, we will feel the power of these machines and enjoy the beauty of nature, with the frozen river and typical snowy Lapland forests. During the excursion, we will enjoy a snack around a campfire with sausages and drinks. Lunch is at your leisure. The afternoon is free to explore the city, visit Santa Claus Village, or participate in an optional excursion. Dinner is at your leisure. Accommodation.

Optional Excursion: Karting and Mini Snowmobiles.

Transfer to the karting circuit, where we will enjoy a completely new experience: driving special karts designed for snow or ice. In groups of 5 or 6 per session, we will go through a "warm-up, qualifying, and race" format, with each person driving their own kart. Driving the karts is very easy, and this activity is suitable for both adults and children with a minimum height of 150 cm (required to reach the accelerator and brake pedals). Children who are unable to drive the karts can ride the mini snowmobiles (for children aged 4 to 11). Prices are valid for bookings made up to 30 days before departure, subject to availability. Day 3. Rovaniemi. Optional Excursions

Optional Excursion: Polar Explorer Icebreaker.

Undoubtedly, one of the best experiences you can have in the Arctic! Early in the morning, we will depart by bus towards Sweden (approx. 2 hours, 168 km). Before arriving, you will be able to admire the imposing vessel at the dock of Axelsvik, in the town of Batskarsnas, just a few kilometers from the Finnish border. The shape of the ship and its extensive stern (rear part), which occupies nearly half of its length, will catch your attention and allow for easy movement from side to side. The cruise aboard the icebreaker lasts for three hours. We will begin with a tour of the ship, from the engine room to the bridge. You can walk around and visit any corner of the ship or relax in the lounge with a hot drink. Dressed warmly, you can witness and feel the ship breaking through the ice beneath your feet. Apart from the unique experience of sailing on a ship of this kind, the highlight of the activity comes when the ship intentionally grounds itself on the ice and, with a specific maneuver, creates a hole free of ice at the stern. Then... it's time for a swim! You will don a survival immersion suit and float in the water without feeling the cold at all. It's a unique and fun experience that encourages us to take photos or videos. Once the cruise is over, we will transfer to a nearby restaurant for a light lunch. Optional Excursion: Ranua Zoo.

Visit the northernmost zoo in the world! Depart by bus from Rovaniemi (approx. 1 hour, 80 km) to reach the zoo that is the farthest north on the planet: Ranua Arctic Zoo. This excursion allows you to observe native animals that inhabit Arctic regions, not only in Finland but also in Greenland or the North Pole. The zoo is built in the middle of nature, within a forest. You can walk through different areas on wooden walkways, getting a close view of the animals. During winter, everything is covered in snow, and it's a delightful experience to walk through the forest while observing the animals in their natural habitat. You can see polar bears, moose, snowy owls, and more. A light lunch is included at the zoo's restaurant before returning to Rovaniemi. We recommend visiting the Fazer shop (the most famous chocolate in Finland). Adult price: $115 // Child price (2-14 years): $105. Day 4. Rovaniemi. Husky Safari.

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. We will start another day of adventures by transferring to a husky farm, where these gentle friends will be eagerly waiting to embark on their journey. After equipping the dogs with harnesses and preparing the different teams (4-6 dogs per sled), we will begin our sled ride. The guides will teach us how to handle the sleds. Well-trained huskies can pull up to seven times their own weight. We will experience the speed through the beautiful Lapland white landscapes... Light lunch during the excursion. The rest of the afternoon is free to enjoy the Village or visit attractions for those with tickets: Arktikum Museum. Arktikum Museum (entrance included) is one of the city's most famous museums. The building itself is admirable, with unique architecture. You can learn about Sami culture and tradition, as well as the history of the city. Special New Year's Eve dinner at the hotel restaurant. After dinner, we will be transferred to the Arctic Snow Hotel, an ice and snow hotel, where we will have an original New Year's Eve entry in a magical setting. We can visit the entire complex with its snow igloos, chapel, restaurant, and even a sauna, all built entirely of snow and ice. We will participate in the traditional Sami ceremony of melting tin to predict what the next year holds for us. Before midnight, the countdown begins, and at midnight, the fireworks will start. Around 12:30, we will return to the hotel for accommodation.

Day 5. Rovaniemi. Optional Excursion: Joulukka Christmas Story and Reindeer Farm.

Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Today is a free day to enjoy the city with all its possibilities, visit Santa Claus Village, or take part in the optional excursion we propose. Dinner on your own. Accommodation.

Optional Excursion: Joulukka Christmas Story and Reindeer Farm.

The excursion that every child is waiting for. We will transfer by bus to a secret location in the forest where we will experience an incredible Christmas story: Joulukka Christmas. We will arrive at a fairytale place where every detail is taken care of. Upon arrival, the elves will be waiting for us to accompany us to a wooden kota (traditional Sami building) with a bonfire in the center. There, we will participate in the elf school, including gingerbread decoration. Those who pass the tests will receive a magnificent diploma. We will have time to enjoy fun outdoor activities such as tobogganing, troll dancing, snow scooters, etc. Next, we will be guided to the secret "Elf Control Center." To enter, we will have to pass another test... an incredible place. And there, family by family, we will be led to the cabin where Santa Claus himself awaits us, who will receive us and spend time with us. Each child will receive a gift from Santa. We will conclude this unique experience with lunch at the Joulukka restaurant. Afterwards, we will head to a nearby reindeer farm where we can enjoy a visit, have hot drinks around a bonfire, and take a ride on a sleigh. You can spend the morning skiing at the alpine ski resort, which has 5 slopes, special slopes for children, and slopes for snowboarders. The capacity of its lifts is 3700 people/hour. It also has a special sled track where you can enjoy with the little ones. Ski rental and lift tickets can be purchased by the hour. Departure to Rovaniemi Airport. Rovaniemi es la capital de Laponia, donde generalmente un manto blanco de grosor superlativo cubre todo el paisaje. Podrás descubrir esta zona ártica donde conviven 180.000 habitantes con más de 200.000 renos; donde el año tiene 200 noches, algunas de ellas iluminadas por la aurora boreal; un territorio con seis parques nacionales y pequeños núcleos urbanos. Rovaniemi tuvo que ser reconstruida tras la 2ª guerra mundial por el prestigioso arquitecto finlandés Alvar Aalto, el cual trazó la silueta de los cuernos de un reno sobre los planos y levantó sobre ella el entramado de calles. Se trata de una ciudad modesta pero funcional, adaptada al clima Ártico.

Día. 1 Barcelona / Rovaniemi

Presentación en aeropuerto. Encuentro con personal de Catai que te ayudará con los sencillos trámites de facturación. Salida en vuelo especial directo con destino Rovaniemi. Snack a bordo incluido. Llegada. Encuentro con nuestro guía y traslado al hotel Sokos Vaakuna (aprox. 10min). Llegada. Recogida de los trajes térmicos que podremos usar durante toda la estancia en Laponia. Una vez instalados dispondréis de tiempo libre para cenar. La ciudad nos ofrece muchas alternativas en restaurantes de diferentes estilos y precios. Día 2. Rovaniemi. Safari en motos de nieve y excursión opcional

Desayuno buffet en el hotel. En el día de hoy realizaremos una de las excursiones más espectaculares del viaje, un safari en moto de nieve. Para ello, nos proveerán de cascos y guantes y tras las instrucciones de los guías, iniciaremos nuestro paseo en moto de nieve. Los adultos conduciremos las motos (2 personas por moto) y los niños viajan en un trineo que arrastra la moto de nieve del guía. Durante el trayecto podremos sentir la potencia de estas máquinas y disfrutar de la naturaleza en su mayor esplendor, con el río helado y los bosques nevados típicos lapones. Durante la excursión disfrutaremos de un tentempié alrededor de una hoguera con salchichas y bebida. Almuerzo libre. Tarde libre para recorrer la ciudad, visitar la Aldea de Santa Claus o realizar una excursión opcional. Cena libre. Alojamiento.

Excursión opcional: Karting y mini motos de nieve.

Traslado al circuito de karting, donde disfrutaremos de una experiencia totalmente nueva; conducir karts especiales para desplazarse sobre la nieve o hielo. En grupos de 5 ó 6 por tanda, “calentamiento, calificación y carrera” cada persona conducirá su propio kart. Conducir los karts es muy fácil y esta actividad la pueden realizar todas las personas (adultos o niños) con una altura mínima de 150 cm (necesaria para llegar a los pedales de acelerador y freno). Los niños que no puedan conducir los karts podrán conducir las minimotos (niños de 4 a 11 años). Excursión opcional: Rompehielos Polar Explorer.

¡Sin duda una de las mejores experiencias que se pueden realizar en el Ártico! A primera hora de la mañana salida en autobús hacia Suecia (aprox. 2 horas, 168 km). Antes de llegar podréis admirar el buque imponente en el muelle de Axelsvik, en la localidad de Batskarsnas, a pocos kilómetros de la frontera con Finlandia. Llamará nuestra atención la forma del buque y su extensa popa (parte trasera) que ocupa prácticamente la mitad de su largo y permite moverse de un lado a otro con facilidad. El crucero a bordo tiene una duración de tres horas. Comenzaremos con una visita del barco, desde la sala de máquinas hasta el puente de mando. Podréis pasear y visitar cualquiera de los rincones del barco, o relajarse en el salón con una bebida caliente. Bien abrigados se puede ver y sentir como el buque rompe el hielo bajo nuestros pies. Aparte de la experiencia única que representa navegar con un buque de estas características, la mejor parte de la actividad viene cuando el buque encalla a propósito en el hielo y con una maniobra específica abre un hueco libre de hielo en la popa. Entonces… ¡es el momento del baño! Enfundarse en un traje estanco de supervivencia y flotar en el agua sin sentir el frío en absoluto. Una experiencia única y divertida que nos anima a realizar fotos o algún vídeo. Una vez finalizado el crucero traslado hasta un restaurante cercano para el almuerzo ligero. Excursión opcional: Zoo de Ranua

¡Visita el zoo más septentrional del mundo! Salida en autobús desde Rovaniemi (aprox. 1 hora, 80 km) para llegar al zoo que está más al norte del planeta: el zoo ártico de Ranua. Una excursión en que la que podréis observar a los animales autóctonos que pueblan las zonas árticas, no sólo en Finlandia, también en Groenlandia o en el Polo Norte. El zoo está construido en plena naturaleza, dentro de un bosque. Por medio de pasarelas de madera podréis ir pasando por diferentes zonas viendo los animales muy de cerca. Durante el invierno todo está cubierto de nieve, es una experiencia muy agradable caminar por el bosque observando a los animales en su hábitat natural. Podréis ver osos polares, alces, búhos nevados, etc…Almuerzo ligero incluido en el restaurante del zoo antes de regresar a Rovaniemi. Día 4. Rovaniemi. Safari de huskies

Desayuno buffet en el hotel. Comenzaremos otro día de aventuras trasladándonos a una granja de huskies, donde estos dóciles amigos nos estarán esperando ansiosos de realizar su recorrido. Después de equipar a los perros con los arneses y preparar los diferentes equipos (4-6 perros por tineo) iniciaremos nuestro paseo en trineo. Los guías nos enseñarán como manejarlos. Los huskies bien entrenados pueden tirar de hasta siete veces su propio peso. Podremos experimentar la velocidad por los bellos paisajes blancos lapones… Almuerzo ligero durante la excursión. Resto de la tarde libre para disfrutar de la Aldea o realizar la visita para las que disponen entradas: Museo Arktikum. El Museo Arktikum (entrada incluida) es uno de los museos más famosos de la ciudad. Ya el edificio es admirable, con una arquitectura única, podréis aprender sobre la cultura y la tradición sami, así como la historia de la ciudad. Cena especial de fin de año en el restaurante del hotel. Después de la cena traslado hasta el Hotel de hielo y nieve “Arctic Snow Hotel” donde disfrutaremos de una original entrada de Año Nuevo en un entorno mágico: podremos visitar todo el complejo con sus iglús de nieve, capilla, restaurante y hasta una sauna, todo construido enteramente en nieve y hielo, participar en la tradicional ceremonia sami de fundir el estaño para predecir lo que el próximo año nos depara. Antes de las 24.00 hr cuenta atrás final y a medianoche empezarán los fuegos artificiales. Sobre las 00.30 regreso al hotel y alojamiento.

Día 5. Rovaniemi. Excursión opcional Cuento de Navidad de Joulukka y granja de renos

Excursión opcional: Cuento de Navidad de Joulukka y granja de renos.

La excursión que todos los niños están esperando. Nos trasladaremos en autobús hasta un lugar secreto en el bosque donde viviremos una experiencia navideña increíble: el cuento de navidad de Joulukka. Llegaremos a un lugar de cuento, donde todo está cuidado al más mínimo detalle. A nuestra llegada nos estarán esperando los elfos para acompañarnos a una kota de madera (construcción tradicional sami) con una hoguera en el centro. Allí participaremos en la escuela de elfos con decoración de galletas de jengibre incluida. Y los que pasen las pruebas recibirán un magnífico diploma. Tendremos tiempo para disfrutar de divertidas actividades al aire libre (toboganning, danza de trolls, patinetes sobre nieve, etc…). A continuación, nos guiarán hasta el “centro de control de los Elfos” secreto. Para entrar habrá que superar alguna otra prueba… un sitio increíble. Y allí, familia por familia, seremos guiados hasta la cabaña donde nos espera el mismísimo Santa Claus, que nos recibirá y pasará un tiempo con nosotros. Cada niño recibirá un regalo de Santa. Acabaremos esta experiencia única con un almuerzo en el restaurante de Joulukka. La capacidad de sus remontes es de 3700 personas/hora. Cuenta también con una pista especial para trineos donde podréis disfrutar con los más pequeños. The prices for snowmobile and sleigh excursions are based on two people sharing the vehicle.

The minimum age to drive snowmobiles is 18 years old; children under this age, depending on their weight and height, will ride in a sleigh pulled by the guide's snowmobile. It is mandatory to have a valid European car driving license to drive the snowmobiles and to carry it during the excursion.

All snowmobiles have comprehensive insurance with a deductible of €1000, for which each participant is responsible in case of an accident.

Due to weather conditions (such as snow or accumulated ice) and for safety reasons, excursions may experience changes in itineraries, duration, or even cancellations without prior notice.

When the group size is very large, it may be divided into several smaller groups, making the operation simpler and more comfortable for passengers. Therefore, the schedule or order of services on excursions may be altered for this reason, without changing the overall content of the excursion. Your guides at the destination will inform you in advance of the schedule for your excursions.

The organizer does not guarantee weather conditions, snow, or accumulated ice for the realization of the offered excursions or safaris. In the event that force majeure prevents the realization of an excursion and it must be canceled, an alternative activity will be carried out or the amount paid will be refunded upon return; either in full if the activity is canceled or partially reduced if conditions do not allow for its complete realization.

Smoking in accommodations where it is not allowed carries high fines, which can amount to up to 4500 euros per person.

The customer is responsible for the keys to the cabins; in the event of loss, compensation will be requested.

Los precios de las excursiones en motos y trineos están basados en dos personas compartiendo el vehículo, haciendo una parada a mitad de camino en la que los pasajeros pueden intercambiar la posición de conducción e incluyen equipo térmico: mono térmico, guantes o manoplas, botas. Así como pasamontañas y casco para safaris de motos.
La edad mínima para conducir las motos de nieve es 18 años, los niños de edad inferior irán, en función de su peso y estatura, en un trineo que arrastra la moto nieve del guía. Es obligatorio estar en posesión de carnet de conducir de coche, válido en Europa, para poder conducir las motos de nieve y llevarlo en el momento de la excursión.
Debido a las condiciones climatológicas (o de nieve o hielo acumulado) y por razones de seguridad, las excursiones pueden sufrir cambios de itinerarios, duración o incluso cancelaciones sin previo aviso. Cuando el tamaño del grupo es muy grande, éste puede verse dividido en varios grupos menores, siendo de este modo la operativa más simple y cómoda para los pasajeros. Por lo tanto el horario u orden de los servicios en las excursiones puede verse alterado por este motivo, sin modificar el contenido global de la excursión. Sus guías en destino les informarán con antelación de los horarios de sus excursiones.
Todas las motos de nieve disponen de un seguro a todo riesgo, con una franquicia de 1.000.-€, de la que cada participante es responsable en caso de accidente.
Fumar en los alojamientos en los que no está permitido conlleva multas elevadas.
El cliente es responsable de las llaves de las cabañas, en caso de pérdida se solicitará una indemnización.
El organizador no garantiza las condiciones climatológicas, de nieve o hielo acumulado para poder realizar las excursiones o safaris ofertados. En caso de que causas de fuerza mayor no permitan la realización de alguna excursión y ésta deba ser anulada, se realizará una actividad alternativa o bien se reembolsará el importe de la misma al regreso; ya sea íntegro si la actividad se debe cancelar o parcial en caso de reducción si las condiciones no permiten su realización completa.
